The performance:

Tchaikovsky invites you to "forsake reality and lose oneself in dreams" with his great symphonic masterpiece, Symphony No. 4 in F minor conducted by the world-renowned Maestro JoAnn Falletta. And, what better way to 'check out' than with that oddity of oddities, a Percussion Concerto complete with vibraphone, temple blocks, marimba, wood blocks, a bowl, gongs, timbales, tom-toms, bongos, crotales, and yes...cowbell (the marvelous instrument of Will Farrell in the famous SNL cowbell sketch). Young Scotsman Colin Currie brings Jennifer Higdon's concerto to life. Vivace members sit together, get a fabulous discount, and receive a unique version of the program notes.

For Vivace's 3rd birthday, we're shaking things up! The Rite of Spring

VIVACE and the Symphony... Saturday, Nov 10th

The performance: Stravinsky's pagan-inspired work, with its new sounds and ferocious rhythms, so shocked the audience at its premiere that they were driven to violent action. What started as catcalls and whistles soon led to shouts and fistfights in the aisles between the haters and Stravinsky's fans. Vivace can't promise anything that riotous, but you never know with a crowd as funkified as ours! Joining Stravinsky's wild work are two pieces by another hot-blooded Russian, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Twenty-something cellist Julie Albers, along with Music Director Keith Lockhart and the Utah Symphony, will wow audiences with Tchaikovsky's Variations on a Rococo Theme. Vivace members sit together and get a special version of the program notes.

The after-party: Party all night long with fellow Vivace peeps, Julie Albers, Keith Lockhart, and members of the Utah Symphony while enjoying the extraordinary culinary delights of The New Yorker*. A smorgasbord of appetizers, desserts, and soft drinks are included with your Vivace ticket purchase. Cash bar. You cannot purchase an after-party ticket separately from the concert ticket.
