Broadway comes to Abravenal, and 3 dance companies perform in one show..

There are two great options for weekend entertainment that I want to tell you about...

1) Bravo Broadway (at Abravenal Hall - February 29th and March 1st. 8 pm)

The E-Notes from the Symphony read - This weekend, Broadway is taking over Abravanel Hall when Tony-nominated actors Melissa Errico (Amour), Debbie Gravitte (In a Musical, Chicago, Les Miserables), and Marc Kudisch (Thoroughly Modern Millie, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Beauty and the Beast) join the Utah Symphony for Bravo Broadway, part of our Pops concert series.

Tickets for this performance are selling fast, so act now to reserve the best seats!

I read over the list of songs they are performing and it is going to be a great time!

2) Studio D Presents - OUT OF THE BOX

Studio D is thrilled to invite you to Out of the Box - a one of a kind performance experience. We're getting a lot of interest in this show, and in the next couple of weeks there's going to be a whole lotta press coverage. We only have 150 tickets for this event, and we want to make sure our current Studio D members get first crack at them. I know it sounds like a marketing cliche, but we really do expect to sell out this show. Get your tickets early, or you might be disappointed. Buy online, by phone (801-355-Arts) or in person at the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center (138 W Broadway).
See you there!

Great shows!

This past weekend I attended both Beethoven's Seventh and The Crystal & The Sphere — both amazing shows!

Utah Symphony performed Beethoven's Seventh and the crowd absolutely loved it! There was also a gust artist - Robert McDuffie, a violin soloist. He was very entertaining to watch, and a privilege to listen to!

Ririe-Woodbury's performance of Alwin Nikolais' The Crystal and The Sphere was also an excellent show! The show was entertaining, fun and even humorous at times. It was a show that all ages could enjoy!

We are so lucky, here in Salt Lake, to have so many great performing arts groups and companies. And they are all very affordable and easily accessible. So please be sure that you get out and support the arts!

Luckily for all of us... there are plenty more shows to see this season! Here are a few more upcoming shows:

Ring Around the Rose - February 9

Dance to the beat of African drums! Join us for interactive percussion fun, African music and dance, and great surprises. At just $5 a ticket, bring the whole family! Show starts at 11:00 am. This is always one of our most popular shows - get your tickets in advance so you don't miss out.
More Info | Buy Ring Around the Rose tickets online or call 801-355-Arts before this one sells out.

Next month: Magic with a Flair, March 8

RDT Steps Out of the Box with Ririe-Woodbury and Ballet West

You might remember that last year, RDT partnered with Ballet West & Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company to form Studio D. Studio D invites 20-, 30-, and 40-somethings (single, partnered, or married) to four or five dance performances each season, and to fabulous after-parties at local restaurants.

On March 1, Studio D is putting together an event like no other. At Out of the Box you'll eat, drink, and be entertained by artists from Ballet West, Repertory Dance Theatre, and Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company, all in the same show! On top of that, local restaurants are providing food and beverages, which are included in your ticket price. Tickets are $25 ($20 for students). Buy online or by phone, 801-355-ARTS.

Out of the Box is for Studio D members only, but don't fret. Membership is free and easy. Not a member yet? Sign up here.

Wondering what else Studio D is up to? We're seeing Ririe-Woodbury's The Crystal & The Sphere on February 2, Out of the Box on March 1, and Ballet West's Nine Sinatra Songs on April 19. Check out our website for details, or email info@studiodutah.org with questions.
